Charlottesville Digital Arts Academy

Located in the heart of Charlottesville, the Digital Arts Academy and accompanying housing aims to reverse the exterior façade inwards, creating an open, flexible, interconnected interior space that transcends the building’s horizontal layers. It focuses on a balance between interior and exterior usable space, encouraging students to spend time outside and members of the public to venture inside. This project also hopes to strengthen the sense of community in the area by providing a place where students and visitors can coexist. Not only is this an educational space for the students, but it also allows those unfamiliar with the digital arts a glimpse into this world.
